Getting ready for the new year

A few printed pages make the first weeks of school smoother. Students do better with paper that matches their grade: wide lines and a dashed midline for young writers, college ruling and Cornell notes for older students, and squared paper for maths so digits line up. Every sheet on this site is generated to size, so you can choose the exact ruling, add a margin or hole-punch guides, and print as many pages as you need.

Planning pages help families and students see the term ahead. An academic calendar shows holidays and exams at a glance, a timetable keeps track of lessons and clubs, and a weekly planner turns homework deadlines into manageable steps. Teachers can prepare seating charts, attendance registers and flashcards before the first day, and print class sets in a single file.

For younger children, the name tracing maker is a gentle start: type their name, choose a letter size and print dotted letters with green starting dots, then move on to blank handwriting paper as their writing grows.

Frequently asked questions

Is everything here free?

Yes. Every sheet is generated in your browser and downloads as a free PDF, for home or classroom use.

Which ruling should my child use?

Roughly: 1 inch lines in kindergarten, 3/4 inch in first grade, 5/8 inch in second, 1/2 inch in third, then wide ruled and eventually college ruled. The ruling by grade guide has details.

Can I print a whole class set at once?

Yes. On the notebooks and packs page you can print one sheet many times, or a booklet with a cover, in a single PDF.

Will the sheets print at the right size?

Print at 100% or Actual size. The calibration wizard checks your printer so rulings and grids come out exactly right.
