Three ready-made packs

Notebook gives you a cover page with your title and lines for a name, subject and date, followed by as many inside pages as you need: lined, dot grid, graph or Cornell. It is the quickest way to make a notebook for a single subject, a travel journal or a homework book, and because the pages come from the same engine as every sheet on the site, the line spacing is exact.

Study pack mixes three kinds of page in one PDF: Cornell notes for lectures and reading, dot grid for diagrams and mind maps, and blank pages for anything else. The pages are split roughly into thirds, and each section has its own bookmark, so the PDF works just as well on a tablet as on paper.

Class set repeats one sheet as many times as you have students, each with a title and lines for name, date and class at the top. Teachers use it for handwriting practice, graph-paper lessons and exam paper, printing a whole class's worth in one go instead of running the photocopier.

Page numbers and binding

Page numbers can be a plain number, "Page 3" or "3 of 40", and in a pack they run on from one section to the next. If you plan to bind the pages, turn on binding margins: the inside margin stays wide on both sides of each spread, so lines never disappear into the spine, and the numbers sit in the outer corner where you can see them while flipping through. Print double-sided, flipping on the long edge.

For a single sheet type with more control, such as a custom ruling, a running header or a folded booklet, use the generator: set the number of pages, then open the page options for page-number position and style, a running header that can alternate between pages, and booklet imposition that prints two pages per sheet in folding order.

Printing a big pack

Large packs are best printed in batches of 20 to 50 pages, so a paper jam does not cost you the whole run. Check the first page with a ruler before you print the rest: ten lines of college-ruled paper should measure 71 mm, and ten 5 mm dot spaces 50 mm. If the measurement is a few percent short, your print dialog is shrinking the page; set the scale to 100% or calibrate your printer once and every PDF will be corrected.

Frequently asked questions

How many pages can a pack have?

Up to 200 pages in one PDF. Large packs take a few seconds to build because everything happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How do I bind a printed notebook?

Turn on Binding margins: the wider margin then alternates between left and right pages, and page numbers move to the outer corner. Print double-sided, flipping on the long edge, then staple, comb-bind or sew the pages along the inner edge.

Do the page numbers continue across sections?

Yes. A study pack numbers its Cornell, dot grid and blank pages as one sequence, and the "3 of 40" style counts the whole pack. The cover of a notebook is left unnumbered.

Can I use the PDF in GoodNotes or Notability?

Yes. Each section has its own bookmark in the PDF, so you can jump between sections in any note-taking app. For tablet-shaped pages, use the digital sizes in the main generator.

Will the pages print at the right size?

Print at 100% / Actual size. If you have calibrated your printer on this device, the pack PDF includes the same correction as single sheets.
