Before the finished drawing comes the plan: thumbnails to try compositions, a storyboard to sequence shots, panel layouts for a comic page, a perspective grid to set out a street, a labelled grid for copying a reference. These templates take the measuring and ruling out of that preparation.

Each sheet is generated to your settings: frame aspect ratios from vertical video to widescreen cinema, six comic layouts, one-, two- and three-point perspective, and grids from 5 mm to 2 inches with letters and numbers for reference.

A typical workflow uses several of them in turn. Fill a thumbnail sheet with quick compositions, choose the strongest, then develop it on a storyboard for a film or on a comic page for a story. When a scene needs architecture, lay it out over a perspective grid; when you are copying a reference, use the labelled grid to transfer it square by square.

Lines are drawn in a light blue or grey by default so that pencil and ink stand out, and every colour can be changed in the advanced options. For plain practice pages, dot grid and blank paper with margins are also available.
