Sudoku that is easy on the eyes

Small newspaper grids can be hard to read and fiddly to write in. Large-print sudoku gives each puzzle a full page, with squares big enough for pencil notes and clue digits in bold so they stand apart from your own entries. It is popular with older solvers, people with low vision, and anyone who prefers a relaxed solve at the kitchen table.

How the puzzles are made

Each puzzle is generated from a complete solution, with clues removed in symmetrical pairs while a solver checks that only one solution remains. Easy puzzles keep about 38 clues; medium about 32. The answer pages show the given digits in bold and the solved digits in blue.

Tips

  • Use a pencil and write small candidates in the corners of squares.
  • Start with the rows, columns and boxes that have the most clues.
  • Print a week’s worth at once by setting the number of pages to seven.

Printing tips

Print at 100% / Actual size. For even larger squares, choose A3 or Tabloid paper.
