A gentle start
Easy sudoku is about learning the rule: every row, column and 3 × 3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 once each. With 38 clues already in place, each puzzle can be finished using only the two simplest techniques: finding the one square in a box where a digit can go, and finding the one digit that fits a square. That makes these grids ideal for new solvers, warm-ups and quick coffee breaks.
What you get
Each page has four puzzles with clue digits printed in bold. The answer page that follows shows the completed grids in the same order, with the original clues in bold and the solved digits in blue, so checking a puzzle takes seconds. Clues are removed in symmetrical pairs, which gives each grid the balanced look of a published puzzle.
Building up
- Solve in pencil so mistakes can be erased.
- Time yourself and try to beat it on the next page.
- When easy puzzles take under ten minutes, move on to the standard medium puzzles.
- For bigger print, see large-print sudoku.
Printing
Print at 100% / Actual size. Six per page makes a compact puzzle booklet; two per page gives larger squares for younger solvers and anyone who prefers bigger numbers.

Frequently asked questions
What makes these sudoku easy?
Each starts with 38 of the 81 numbers filled in, more than medium (32) or hard (about 27). With that many clues, every empty square can be filled by checking its row, column and box; no guessing is needed.
Does every puzzle have one solution?
Yes. Clues are removed only while the puzzle still has exactly one solution, which the generator checks with a solver every time.
How do I get more puzzles?
Change the puzzle book number in the generator. Every number makes a different set of puzzles, and the same number always gives the same set, so you can reprint a page later.
Are they suitable for children?
Yes. Children from about eight can usually solve easy grids, especially after a walk-through with the how to solve sudoku guide.
