A year on one page
Twelve columns line up naturally with the months, so this sheet turns into an annual budget, a sales tracker or a utility log with almost no setup: write the months across the top, the categories down the side, and fill in a column each month. Use the last row for monthly totals and the year is visible at a glance.
Uses
- Annual budget: planned amounts per month, with actuals in a different colour.
- Business figures: monthly sales by product, or expenses by category.
- Household logs: electricity, gas and water readings.
- Games and sport: scores across twelve rounds or weeks.
- Planning a spreadsheet: sketch the structure before building it on a computer.
Tips
Write in pencil for forecasts and pen for actual figures. Leave the last row for totals, and use the row numbers to refer to lines in notes or discussions.
For bookkeeping with dates and cents, use the accounting paper; for a one-page view of the dates themselves, see the yearly calendar.
Printing
Print in landscape at 100% / Actual size. A4 landscape holds the same 28 rows as Letter.

Frequently asked questions
How many rows are there?
28 numbered rows on a landscape Letter page with 1/4 inch rows.
What is 12-column paper used for?
Anything with twelve periods or categories: a budget across the months of the year, monthly sales, meter readings, scores across rounds, or a hand-drawn spreadsheet.
Why landscape?
Twelve columns plus a description need width. In landscape, each column is wide enough for four or five digits.
Are the columns split for cents?
Not by default, so each column is as wide as possible. Turn on split amount columns in the generator if you need them.
